Thank you for playing ZXO ("we", "our", or "the App"), developed by Eslam Hamouda (eslamx.com). Your privacy is paramount. ZXO is built with a zero-data-collection philosophy: no ads, no trackers, no accounts, and no data harvesting.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, or any personal identifiers.
  • Location Data: We do not collect, monitor, or track your GPS or physical location.
  • Device Identifiers & Telemetry: We do not collect Advertising IDs (IDFA/GAID), hardware serial numbers, or device fingerprints.
  • Analytics & Third-Party SDKs: We do not use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Mixpanel) or crash reporters that upload user data.
  • Advertising: ZXO is 100% ad-free. No advertising networks or tracking SDKs are integrated into the App.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide a seamless gaming experience, the App stores limited preferences locally on your device via standard local storage (SharedPreferences on Android / UserDefaults on iOS):

  • Player Name: Your chosen in-game display name (defaults to your device model or a randomized guest name).
  • Game Preferences: Your selected timer mode (such as Blitz mode).

This information remains strictly on your physical device. It is never transmitted to external servers or accessible to anyone other than you.

3. Local Network & Permissions

ZXO offers peer-to-peer multiplayer over your local Wi-Fi network (LAN):

  • Local Network (iOS) & Wi-Fi Multicast (Android): Used solely to discover other devices running ZXO on the same local Wi-Fi router via standard mDNS (Multicast DNS) service discovery (_zxo._tcp).
  • Nearby Devices / Location (Android): On older Android versions, the Android operating system groups Wi-Fi network discovery under nearby device/Wi-Fi permissions. ZXO explicitly flags these permissions with neverForLocation and never accesses, tracks, or shares your geographic location.
  • Direct P2P Sockets: When playing over local network, game moves and turns are transmitted directly between the two local devices via a direct TCP socket connection. No game data passes through external cloud servers.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

ZXO is designed to be family-friendly and safe for players of all ages, including children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect, retain, or share any personal information, ZXO fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K).

5. Third-Party Websites and Links

The App includes a link to the developer's website (eslamx.com) and GitHub repository in the About screen. If you choose to tap these links, your web browser will open the external site, which is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy in future versions of the App, the revised version will be posted here on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
